Grand ‘Beating Retreat’ Ceremony Enthralls at Historic Vijay Chowk

New Delhi: The historic Vijay Chowk in the national capital reverberated with foot-tapping tunes and synchronized steps, as the ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony unfolded on Monday, marking the conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations.

As the sun set, casting a majestic backdrop, members of the armed forces showcased their precision and discipline, marching to the beats of Indian tunes. The ceremony brought together the music bands of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), creating a symphony of captivating melodies.

Among the distinguished audience were President Droupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the defense forces, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and various union ministers.

The ceremony commenced with the massed band playing the evocative ‘Shankhnaad’ tune, setting the stage for a series of enthralling musical performances. The repertoire included tunes like ‘Veer Bharat,’ ‘Sangam Dur,’ ‘Deshon ka Sartaj Bharat,’ ‘Bhagirathi,’ and ‘Arjuna’ by the Pipes and Drums band.

The ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony, a symbolic and grand event, serves as a fitting tribute to the spirit of unity, discipline, and patriotism that defines the armed forces. It encapsulates the essence of the Republic Day celebrations and leaves a lasting impression on the spectators, showcasing the rich musical and military heritage of India.
