Bhubaneswar: In a notable development, 367 officers and staff have been inducted into various departments of the Government of Odisha. The Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, presided over a special orientation function organized for the new recruits.
The official press release details the diverse roles of the new appointees, encompassing 80 staff nurses, 40 pharmacists, 40 lab technicians, 08 ANMs, 08 X-ray technicians, 09 OT assistants in the Directorate of ESI, 48 handicrafts promotion officers, 07 inspectors of cooperative societies, 03 auditors in the Directorate of Handicrafts, 11 junior assistants in the State Pollution Control Board, 09 assistant directors in the Directorate of Factories and Boilers, and 104 inspectors of supplies in the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik articulated a singular directive for the new recruits – to dedicate themselves to serving the people of Odisha. Regardless of their specific roles, he emphasized that all public servants share the common objective of contributing to the greater public good.
Highlighting the state’s significant progress over the past two decades, Chief Minister Patnaik underscored the transformative impact of initiatives like the 5T (Transparency, Teamwork, Technology, and Timeliness) in governance. Encouraging the new officers to align with the 5T initiative, he urged them to be catalysts for positive change in their respective fields.
Expressing his vision for Odisha’s leadership across sectors, the Chief Minister called for collective efforts as “Team Odisha” to build an empowered and progressive state. Minister of Food Supply & Consumer Welfare Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Minister of Labour and ESI Sarada Prasad Nayak echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Odisha’s current standing as a frontrunner in various sectors and encouraging the new employees to adhere to the principles of 5T.
During the event, four new recruits shared their experiences and expressed their commitment to following the 5T principles and serving the people of Odisha with dedication. The welcome address was delivered by Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Handloom and Handicrafts, while RS Gopalan, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Labour & ESI Department, proposed the vote of thanks. Principal Secretary of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Vir Vikram Yadav, was also present at the occasion.
