Gotipua Dance Festival commences in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited ‘Gotipua Dance Festival-2024’ organised by the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture has commenced at the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center today

Dilip Routrai, Director of the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The two days cultural extravaganza will witness the participation of about 20 Gotipua organizations from the state, each set to present captivating dance performances. The inaugural day witnessed 10 organizations presenting Gotipua dances in separate afternoon and evening sessions.

The participating organizations included renowned names such as Kailas Gotipua Dance Institute from Sakthigopal, Aradhana Dance Academy from Pradhan Sahi, Khurda, Jaydev Gotipua Odissi Dance Institute from Bhingarpur, Khurda, Kasada Gotipua from Chandanpur, Puri, Nrutyambar from Puri, Baba Gorakhnath Gotipu Dance Association from Puri, Bankeshwari Gotipua Nrutya Parishad from Puri, Avinna Sundara Gotipua Dance Council from Puri, Nakshatra Gurukula Trust from Bhubaneswar, and Laxmipriya Gotipua from Balipatna, Khurda. The festival promises to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Odisha through the enchanting art of Gotipua dance.
