
Bhubaneswar: Former cricketer and renowned cricket coach Ravi Shastri paid a visit to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday, sparking discussions on the development of world-class cricket infrastructure in the state.
The meeting between the Chief Minister and the former head coach of the Indian cricket team proved to be highly productive, with both parties engaging in fruitful deliberations regarding the promotion of sports and the enhancement of cricket facilities in Odisha.
He was in the city to sign a MoU between the ‘Coaching Beyond’ cricket academy and the MGM School of Sports in Cuttack, for the establishment of a high-performance cricket academy.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and the strides made in sporting infrastructure, Chief Minister Patnaik took to social media to share his appreciation. On his ‘X’ handle, he wrote, “Glad to meet ex-cricketer & former head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri, who visited #Odisha to attend the MoU signing event between ‘Coaching Beyond’ cricket academy and #Cuttack-based MGM School of Sports to establish a high-performance cricket academy.”
