Our goal is to expand this initiative to towns and cities across India, ensuring that fitness becomes a part of our culture,” he said.

Ayushmann Khurrana, who was honored as a ‘Fit India Icon’, shared his thoughts on the importance of a healthy lifestyle in shaping a prosperous nation. “A healthy nation is a wealthy nation. The Fit India Movement is a fantastic initiative to inspire people towards physical fitness and well-being. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya for his relentless work in promoting fitness across India,” he stated.

The opening ceremony was a visual spectacle, featuring dynamic performances of Kalaripayattu, Gatka, and Mallakhamb, showcasing India’s rich martial arts heritage. The carnival, set to run for three days, offers a thrilling lineup of fitness challenges, including rope skipping, arm wrestling, cricket bowling, push-ups, and squat competitions. Attendees also have access to free health assessments, with experts from the Sports Authority of India’s National Centre of Sports Sciences and Research (NCSSR) providing nutrition and psychological consultations.

One of the major highlights of the evening was the launch of the book, “Benefits of Cycling,” curated by the NCSSR team. The book emphasizes the importance of incorporating cycling into daily routines for a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Mandaviya also led an engaging Q&A session with fitness experts, reinforcing the importance of active living.

The energy at the carnival peaked with a ‘Fitness through Dance’ segment, where performers captivated the audience with high-energy dance routines. The event also saw Ayushmann Khurrana, Sangram Singh, and Mickey Mehta take part in an interactive fitness challenge, motivating attendees to push their limits.

As the evening concluded, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya toured the health and wellness stalls, exploring various government-led initiatives aimed at promoting fitness and well-being across the country.
