Bhubaneswar: Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Odisha have registered a significant improvement in Class 10 Board Examination results for the academic year 2025–26, achieving an impressive pass percentage of 96.45 per cent.
According to official data, 1,480 students were registered from 27 EMRS institutions, of which 1,466 appeared for the examination. Notably, all appearing students cleared the exam for the second consecutive year, reflecting the strengthening of academic support systems across the schools.
The performance marks a substantial rise from last year’s pass percentage of 93.07 per cent. Officials said the results also indicate a more uniform improvement across institutions, with the number of schools achieving a 100 per cent pass rate increasing from 9 to 12.
Further, 13 schools recorded pass percentages between 90 and 99 per cent, compared to 11 in the previous year. At the same time, the number of schools with pass percentages below 90 per cent declined sharply from 7 to just 2, highlighting consistent progress.
While the state’s average pass percentage stood at 93.66 per cent and the national average at 93.70 per cent, EMRS Odisha outperformed both with its 96.45 per cent success rate.
Among the top performers, Mahesh Bhupathi Hembram and Hiramani Baskey from EMRS Dhanghera secured 94 per cent each. Dushmant Majhi from EMRS Bahalda scored 93.6 per cent, followed by Aleena Alam of EMRS Karanjia with 92.63 per cent and Laxmikanta Bhatra from EMRS Hirli with 91.8 per cent.
Officials attributed the improved results to focused academic monitoring, targeted interventions, and the dedicated efforts of teachers and school authorities. The achievement is expected to further boost confidence among tribal students and reinforce the role of EMRS institutions in delivering quality education across the state.
