Empowering Students: Nua-O Scholarships Distributed in Balasore District

Balasore: In line with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision for educational empowerment and development, Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, visited Balasore district today. The focus of the visit was the Nua-O Scholarship Distribution Programme, where Sh. Pandian interacted with students and distributed scholarship sanction orders.

A total of 30,926 eligible students from 71 colleges in Balasore district were beneficiaries of this initiative, receiving their scholarship amounts directly in their bank accounts. The sanctioned amount for these students amounted to Rs. 30.6 Crores. Kartik Pandian handed out Nua-O Scholarship Sanction Orders, personally engaging with the students and encouraging them for their future endeavors.

He shared that the government’s forthcoming major initiative is the launch of the Nabin Odisha Magic Card. This smart card, based on a points system, aims to engage and empower the youth by supporting academic development, personality development, skill enhancement, and employment opportunities. The online registration portal for the Nabin Odisha Magic Card is set to be launched on March 5th, 2024. All UG and PG students, without any income criteria, will be eligible, and the distribution of the card is scheduled for August 15th.

During the program, he interacted with the students, witnessing their excitement as they received the scholarship sanction orders.

In a gesture of homage, Kartik Pandian visited the Memorial for Manmath Das and Manoj Das in Bhograi. He acknowledged the significant contributions of these esteemed individuals to academic and literary development in Odisha, expressing gratitude to their family members for donating the land for the memorial. The visit underscored the commitment to honor Odisha’s rich intellectual heritage and inspire the generations to come.
