Empowering Odisha’s Skilling Landscape: Chief Minister’s Skill Development Fellowship Unveiled

Bhubaneswar: The Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha, proudly introduces the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Fellowship, a pioneering initiative recently launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. This fellowship aims to engage young professionals in the transformative journey of Skilled-in-Odisha, contributing to the decentralization of skilling initiatives across all districts of Odisha under the flagship scheme NUA (Nutana Unnata Abhilasha) Odisha, and enhancing the brand “Skilled In Odisha.”

The fellowship offers a unique two-year opportunity for aspiring individuals to make a meaningful impact on the skilling landscape of Odisha. It comes with an attractive compensation package and the chance to obtain a Certificate in Public Policy from the Indian School of Business upon successful completion. TATA Strive is the implementation partner for this initiative.

Applicants, who must be Indian citizens, should be graduates in any discipline with at least 50% marks in Class 10th, 12th, and Graduation. They should be aged between 21 and 30 years at the time of application, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in related fields. Desirable criteria include knowledge of the local language and prior experience in skill development.

CM Skill Development Fellows will play a crucial role in facilitating skill development initiatives and schemes at the district level. Their responsibilities include networking with training partners, industries, and organizations, liaising among different departments for effective collaboration, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and collaborating with District Skill Development Missions to revitalize skill development plans.

The fellowship tenure spans two years with a consolidated stipend in the first year, accompanied by a 10% annual increment in the second year, contingent on performance. The stipend covers honorarium, boarding & lodging expenses, accommodation, personal insurance, and other contingency costs. Fellows are required to purchase suitable insurance coverage for the entire fellowship period.

Applications are now open for motivated individuals looking to embark on this transformative journey. Interested candidates can apply through https://nua.skillodisha.gov.in/cmskillfellowship.php, with the application deadline set for March 12, 2024. This fellowship represents a unique opportunity for young professionals to contribute significantly to the skilling ecosystem and be a part of Odisha’s growth story.
