Elaborate Security Measures in Place for PM Modi’s Visit to Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to visit Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has rolled out extensive security arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure visit during his stay in the city.

Addressing the media on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh outlined the security measures in place for the Prime Minister’s visit. Modi is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) at 9:30 pm, following which he will proceed to Raj Bhawan for an overnight stay before attending election meetings in Berhampur and Nabarangpur the next day.

A three-tier security arrangement will be implemented for the Prime Minister’s carcade, spanning from the airport to Raj Bhavan. This will involve the deployment of three Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 17 Inspectors-in-Charge (IICs), and 20 platoons of police personnel, including officers from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

To ensure the Prime Minister’s safety, the entire route will be barricaded and designated as a ‘No Drone Flying Zone’ throughout his visit. Additionally, a rehearsal for the PM’s carcade will be conducted in the evening prior to his arrival, with traffic movement being regulated during this time.

DCP Prateek Singh emphasized that the Commissionerate Police has held extensive discussions with officers from the Special Protection Group (SPG) to coordinate security arrangements effectively. He assured that Raj Bhavan and its surrounding areas will be under vigilant surveillance during the Prime Minister’s night halt, with measures in place to monitor any suspicious activity.
