Bhubaneswar: On Friday, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) unveiled two distinctive experiences as part of the ongoing Ekamra Walks initiative. The exclusive “Essence of Odisha” trail kicked off today, offering locals and tourists an immersive journey into Odisha’s rich cultural and linguistic tapestry.
The day commenced with the “Walk in Wilderness” at Deras Dam, a curated expedition tailored for nature enthusiasts. Participants embarked on a serene odyssey through verdant landscapes, providing an intimate encounter with the untamed. This walk served as an idyllic retreat for those seeking tranquility and a profound communion with nature, showcasing the region’s exquisite natural allure.
In a captivating showcase of Odisha’s cultural opulence, the second event, the “Essence of Odisha” trail, offered a comprehensive walking tour through the vibrant cultural panorama of the state. Starting at the historic Kedarnath Library, participants delved into the ancient art of palm leaf manuscript preservation. The journey continued with spellbinding Pala performances at Bharati Mutt, followed by a visit to Jameswara Temple, resonating with the verses of BhimaBhoi. The trail culminated at the Mukteswara Temple, where a fusion of Odia classical music and Odissi dance echoed the artistic spirit of Odisha. This trail transcends a mere walk; it is a jubilation of Odisha’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
Scheduled every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of March, these walks provide enthusiasts ample opportunities to partake in these natural and cultural explorations. For those keen on joining this expedition, comprehensive information about the event, including the registration process, trail descriptions, timings, and other pertinent details, is readily available on the official website,
