Educational Excursion in Delhi: Tribal Students from North East States Immerse in Cultural Exploration

New Delhi: The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) orchestrated an educational excursion from 8th to 12th February 2024 for 255 students and teachers hailing from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in three North Eastern states – Manipur, Sikkim, and Tripura. The excursion included an exclusive visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan, Rashtrapati Museum, and Amrit Udyan on 8th February, in collaboration with Rashtrapati Bhawan.

For these tribal students, it marked a momentous occasion as they explored the capital city for the first time and immersed themselves in the beauty of Amrit Udyan and Rashtrapati Bhawan. The visit provided a glimpse into the historical significance of these landmarks, fostering a deep appreciation for India’s diverse cultural heritage among the students. The highlight of the excursion was an enriching interaction with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.

Participating in the Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav at the President’s House added a new and thrilling dimension to the students’ experience. EMRS students from Sikkim, Manipur, and Tripura not only had the opportunity to partake in the North East Festival during this event but also showcased their talents in the inauguration function of Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav. Asit Gopal, Commissioner, NESTS, and other officials from NESTS were present to witness this significant moment.

In line with a holistic approach to development, the tribal students engaged in educational excursions until 12th February 2024, encompassing visits to Aadi Mahotsav and various places of scientific, cultural, and artistic importance. This initiative seeks to provide students with enriching experiences beyond traditional classroom learning, fostering a well-rounded growth trajectory.

The excursion proved to be a remarkable journey for the students, creating cherished memories that will endure a lifetime. The event, aligned with the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, facilitated close interaction among students from the three states, allowing them to share experiences and forge lasting connections.
