ECoR Launches ‘ECoR Yatra’ App for Rath Yatra 2025 Pilgrims; Ensures Seamless Rail Experience

Bhubaneswar: In a major tech-driven initiative aimed at easing travel during the upcoming Rath Yatra 2025, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has launched a dedicated mobile application titled ‘ECoR Yatra’. The Android-based app, now available on the Google Play Store, is designed to offer real-time, reliable, and accessible railway information for lakhs of pilgrims expected to visit Puri during the grand festival.

The new mobile application serves as a one-stop digital platform for all rail-related services and passenger amenities linked to the Rath Yatra. From special train schedules to live platform updates, the app is intended to streamline journey planning and minimize congestion at railway counters.

A Digital Companion for Devotees

Developed with intuitive navigation and multilingual support, the ECoR Yatra app is tailored for users across India. It provides a comprehensive digital guide, making travel planning more efficient and less stressful for pilgrims coming from Odisha and neighbouring states.

The app features complete details of the 365 Special Trains scheduled between June 25 and July 7, 2025, including train numbers, routes, halts, and departure timings. Pilgrims can also browse updated regular train schedules to and from Puri, track live train running status, and access platform allocations at the station.

Passenger Services at a Glance

Beyond train timings, the app integrates with IRCTC to offer information on Retiring Rooms, Tourist Huts, and mela-specific accommodations, ensuring pilgrims find adequate rest during their visit. Details on ticket booking, including reserved and unreserved counters, as well as UTS on Mobile ticketing support, are also available.

The app is also linked to NTES and PNR platforms to assist with fare inquiries, seat availability, and navigation tools. For digital literacy, short video tutorials demonstrate how to use Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) and book via mobile.

Hygiene, Safety and Comfort in Focus

To ensure a safe and comfortable journey, ECoR Yatra lists available amenities such as drinking water, e-catering, medical booths, wheelchair access, battery-operated carts for senior citizens, misting fans, and public toilets. The app also provides click-to-dial access to key helpline numbers for Railway Police, Medical Emergencies, Lost & Found, and Passenger Grievance Redressal.

Real-time alerts and push notifications will be sent in case of emergencies, keeping passengers informed at all times.

Guidance for Safe Celebrations

The app also includes essential guidelines and advisories for devotees, covering areas like crowd control, personal safety, hydration, and reporting suspicious items. Special instructions have been issued for senior citizens, children, and first-time visitors to ensure a secure and smooth experience during the high-traffic days of the festival.

Call to Action from East Coast Railway

East Coast Railway has urged all devotees to download the ECoR Yatra app in advance to avoid delays and benefit from the services at their fingertips. “This is a significant leap toward delivering seamless and digitally empowered travel experiences to every pilgrim attending the Rath Yatra 2025,” an ECoR spokesperson said.
