DPIIT’s ‘One District One Product Sampark’ Initiative Amplifies Grassroots Success Stories Across India

New Delhi: Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is steering the ‘One District One Product Sampark’ initiative, organizing nationwide events to spotlight success stories emanating from various districts. These events align with the goal of fostering ‘atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) and rejuvenating indigenous industries, showcasing instances of vibrant district-based enterprises.

Conducted in 15 states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Goa, Maharashtra, and Meghalaya, the workshops are integral to creating awareness about the initiative. Success stories are disseminated through local and national newspapers in multiple languages, reinforcing the tangible impact of the ODOP Sampark initiative.

The workshops serve as a dynamic platform for live interactions, enabling DPIIT to identify gaps in market linkages and initiate proactive measures. The initiative includes supporting e-commerce onboarding, formulating ODOP policies in collaboration with states, enhancing packaging strategies, and facilitating connections between sellers at the central level to boost domestic and global promotions.

These events go beyond sensitizing artisans and farmers about the ODOP initiative; they offer immersive cultural showcases, presenting a diverse array of local products from each state. The workshops address a spectrum of objectives, from discussing state and central schemes to showcasing products and raising awareness about initiatives benefiting artisans and farmers.

DPIIT’s ODOP Sampark, executed in collaboration with the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and State Governments, stands out as a unique platform fostering collaboration among government officials, ODOP sellers, media representatives, and key stakeholders. The workshops provide real-time insights, addressing challenges, and exploring opportunities faced by local industries, contributing to immediate growth and development.

With each state identifying a primary product from each district, ranging across sectors such as Agriculture, Manufacturing, Handloom and Textiles, Handicraft, Food Processing, Marine, and services, the ODOP Sampark initiative continues to evolve. The workshops remain pivotal in not only showcasing success stories but also in addressing challenges, fostering collaboration, and paving the way for a more inclusive and thriving ecosystem for ODOP initiatives nationwide.
