New Delhi: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has announced a strategic partnership with HCLSoftware, a global leader in software solutions, as part of its Manufacturing Incubation Initiative aimed at transforming India’s manufacturing startup ecosystem. The agreement, revealed at Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi, underscores DPIIT’s commitment to fostering corporate engagement in supporting startup growth under the Startup India initiative. To date, DPIIT has formalized over 80 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various industry stakeholders to support this objective.

This collaboration grants manufacturing startups access to the HCL SYNC program, which provides an international platform for Indian innovators to showcase their products and services, taking Indian innovation to a global audience. DPIIT aims for the initiative to establish India as a leading production hub by focusing on several core objectives: cultivating Indian intellectual property, enhancing product quality to meet global standards, and creating a robust ecosystem where startups and suppliers form a connected value chain supporting the manufacturing sector.

DPIIT Joint Secretary, Sanjiv Singh, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership with HCLSoftware, noting, “This collaboration will allow Indian innovation to flourish, strengthening India’s presence on the global manufacturing stage. HCLSoftware’s expertise and commitment align seamlessly with DPIIT’s vision for a sustainable and competitive manufacturing ecosystem.” Singh further highlighted DPIIT’s dedication to the “Make in India” initiative, stating that the partnership would play a vital role in realizing this national objective.

Director of Startup India, Dr. Sumeet K. Jarangal, reinforced the initiative’s goal to empower startups with advanced digital tools and global market access. “HCLSoftware is dedicated to elevating Indian manufacturing startups to new heights. By providing support at every phase, from design and development to marketing, we aim to nurture excellence and growth, creating a success story for Indian manufacturing on the global stage,” Dr. Jarangal remarked.

Kalyan Kumar, Chief Product Officer at HCLSoftware, described the collaboration as a pivotal moment for India’s manufacturing sector. “HCLSoftware is committed to providing startups with essential tools and support, fostering an environment that enables innovation and contributes to India’s ambition to be a global manufacturing powerhouse,” he stated.

The DPIIT-HCLSoftware partnership marks a significant leap forward in strengthening India’s manufacturing startup landscape, advancing the Startup India initiative’s mission, and supporting India’s emergence as a global leader in manufacturing and innovation.
