New Delhi: Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled 41 new books under the PM YUVA 2.0 scheme at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2025 today. The event was graced by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu as the guest of honor.
Congratulating the 41 young authors, Pradhan expressed confidence that their writings and creativity would enrich India’s literary landscape and inspire intellectual discourse. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conceptualizing the PM YUVA Scheme, which has evolved into a national movement, nurturing young literary talents who bring forth stories of India’s culture, heritage, history, and unsung freedom fighters.
Highlighting the importance of books in Indian languages, Pradhan described the initiative as a groundbreaking step toward making literature more accessible. He emphasized that the recently announced ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Pustak Scheme’ in the Union Budget 2025 would further accelerate this mission.
He also commended the National Book Trust (NBT) for making books and literature more widely available in Indian languages. He urged NBT to embrace technology and collaborate with publishers globally to showcase India’s literary heritage on the world stage.
During the event, Pradhan released the Hindi version of “The Saga of Kudopali: The Unsung Story of 1857”, announcing that it would soon be available in 12 Indian and two foreign languages to ensure wider reach. Additionally, he launched “Sangama Madhavante Randu Krithikal”, a Malayalam translation of the works of 14th-century mathematician and astronomer Sri Madhava.
Calling the New Delhi World Book Fair a “Gyan-Kumbh”—a confluence of knowledge, literature, and culture—the Minister praised it as an ideal platform for book lovers to discover new works, interact with authors, and immerse in India’s literary richness.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Vineet Joshi (Secretary, Department of Higher Education), Sanjay Kumar (Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy), Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe (Chairman, NBT), Prof. M. Jagdeesh Kumar (Chairperson, UGC), and Yuvraj Malik (Director, NBT).
