Subhadra Shakti Leadership Summit Concludes in Konark

Bhubaneswar: The six-day Subhadra Shakti Leadership Summit, organised by the Mission Shakti Department, Government of Odisha at Konark, concluded successfully, marking a significant initiative to strengthen women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in the state.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and highlighted the important role women are playing in building a developed Odisha.

Addressing the gathering, Parida said that Mission Shakti has grown beyond a government programme and has become a powerful women-led transformation movement in the state. She added that the summit aimed to equip women with leadership skills, emotional intelligence, capacity building and knowledge about start-up opportunities to help them contribute to Odisha’s development.

The summit, which began on March 7, witnessed participation from Presidents and Secretaries of 338 block-level federations, with a total of 676 members attending the programme. Officials said this was the first time such a large gathering of federation leaders had participated in a leadership summit under Mission Shakti.

The state government is working to transform Self-Help Groups (SHGs) into sustainable micro-enterprises while promoting economic and digital empowerment among women.

Mission Shakti Commissioner-cum-Secretary Manasi Nimbal and Director Monica Priyadarshini, along with other officials and dignitaries, were present at the closing ceremony.

On the final day, 174 representatives from districts including Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Subarnapur, Balangir and Mayurbhanj shared their experiences during the summit.
