New Delhi: On the occasion of Good Governance Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh launched the Rashtraparv Website and its Mobile App on December 25, 2024.
The Rashtraparv platform aims to provide seamless access to information related to the organization of national events, including the Republic Day Parade, Beating Retreat Ceremony, and Independence Day celebrations. Key features include live streaming, ticket purchases, seating arrangements, and route maps for events, making it a comprehensive resource for citizens and event organizers alike.
Speaking at the launch, Defence Secretary highlighted the dual functionality of the platform. “The Rashtraparv Website and Mobile App, developed by the Ministry of Defence, also feature a Tableau Management Portal. This portal facilitates States, Union Territories, ministries, and departments in designing and finalizing their tableaux for the Republic Day Parade,” he said. The platform also archives historical data related to these events, offering a rich repository for future reference.
The website and app are the result of an inclusive and consultative process by the Ministry of Defence. States had recommended a centralized portal for managing tableau designs, while feedback from Republic Day event attendees emphasized the need for accessible event information. Incorporating these suggestions, the Rashtraparv platform has been designed to ensure transparency, openness, and user-centric governance.
The website can be accessed at https://rashtraparv.mod.gov.in, and the mobile app is available for download on the Government App Store (M-Seva).
Launched on Good Governance Day, this initiative embodies the values of transparency and accessibility championed by the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “The Rashtraparv platform is a step forward in fostering citizen-centric governance and is a fitting tribute to Shri Vajpayee’s legacy,” Singh remarked.
