‘Dana Pani’ Enthralls Audience on Second Evening of Rang Sangam

Bhubaneswar: The state-level theatre festival “Rang Sangam” continued to captivate audiences with the staging of “Dana Pani” on its second evening at the Bhanja Kala Mandap. Based on the novel Dana Pani by renowned Odia writer Gopinath Mohanty, the play drew a large crowd, leaving a lasting impression on theatre enthusiasts.

The play poignantly depicted the relentless struggles and unwavering determination of individuals striving to secure their basic necessities in life. The theatrical adaptation of the novel was undertaken by Shri Harihar Mishra, while the play was skillfully directed by Shri Ravinarayan Tripathi.

Artists from Puri’s Theatre Designers delivered compelling performances, bringing various characters to life with remarkable authenticity. Their portrayal of the socio-economic hardships faced by the common people resonated deeply with the audience, making the play a memorable experience.

Organized by the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi, “Rang Sangam” is being held at Bhanja Kala Mandap, Bhubaneswar, from February 16 to February 20. The festival celebrates Odisha’s rich literary and cultural heritage through theatrical interpretations of significant literary works. With each play, the event continues to mesmerize audiences, showcasing the depth and artistic excellence of Odia theatre.
