Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala Explores Bilateral Ties with India at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit

 

New Delhi:  The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Petr Fiala, embarked on a visit to India from January 9 to 11, 2024, with a primary focus on participation in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

During his visit, Prime Minister Petr Fiala had a significant meeting with his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The discussions between the two leaders primarily centered around advancing bilateral ties, with a particular emphasis on collaboration in the knowledge, technology, and scientific sectors.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the collaborative efforts between Czech and Indian companies, particularly in the defense, railways, and aviation sectors, as part of the Make in India initiative. He underlined the synergy between the Indian growth story and the robust industrial base of the Czech Republic, emphasizing the potential for both nations to emerge as ideal partners in the global supply chain.

A crucial highlight of the discussions was the Joint Statement for India-Czechia Strategic Partnership on Innovation. Both leaders welcomed the adoption of this statement as a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between India and Czechia. The joint statement aims to capitalize on the complementarities of the two nations in various sectors, including start-ups and innovation, cyber-security, digital domains, artificial intelligence, defense, nuclear energy, and the circular economy.

The leaders expressed optimism about the strategic partnership fostering collaboration in key areas that are vital for the growth and development of both countries. As the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit continues, the visit of Prime Minister Petr Fiala remains a pivotal moment for India and the Czech Republic to strengthen their ties and explore new avenues for cooperation in the evolving global landscape.
