CSIR-AMPRI and KAMP Organize Scientific Excursion to Ignite Curiosity Among Students
Bhopal: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI), in collaboration with the Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform (KAMP), orchestrated a captivating Scientific Excursion on April 29th, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Under the CSIR Jigyasa and Viksit Bharat Program, KAMP led the initiative, welcoming 250 students along with their teachers from DPS Kolar Road Bhopal, IES public school Sehore, and IES public school Ratibad, Bhopal. The program commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by Dr. D.P Mondal, Chief Scientist and Head of Alloys, Composites and Cellular Materials Division, CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal, and Dr. Satanand Mishra, Principal Scientist & Jigyasa Coordinator, CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal.
The Scientific Excursion provided an enriching experience for students, offering them a window into the realms of science, technology, and innovation. With the aim of nurturing a fervent interest in scientific exploration, the excursion aimed to kindle the spirit of curiosity and discovery among the students. Dr. Mishra and his Jigyasa team led engaging discussions and facilitated lab visits, inspiring students to delve deeper into the mysteries of science.
During their visit to the labs, students were immersed in practical learning experiences across various domains, including the 3D Printing Lab, Raman Spectrometer Lab, Hybrid Composite Lab, and the Centre for Advanced Radiation Shielding and Geo-polymeric Materials (CARS&GM). These hands-on activities provided students with invaluable insights and a deeper understanding of scientific principles in action.
The Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform (KAMP), a collaborative initiative between CSIR – National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR) and industrial partner M/S Nysa Communications Pvt. Ltd. (NCPL), played a pivotal role in orchestrating the excursion. KAMP serves as a dynamic platform for students to engage with scientific concepts, broaden their horizons, and nurture their innate curiosity for scientific exploration.
