Complete 240 Projects in Six Months: Minister Suresh Pujari Reviews Works in Brajrajnagar

Bhubaneswar: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has directed officials to expedite development works in Brajrajnagar, setting a six-month deadline for completion of all 240 ongoing projects.

During a detailed review meeting on urban development initiatives, the Minister stressed strict monitoring of project timelines and warned of action against contractors or agencies showing negligence or slow progress.

Key infrastructure and civic projects, including a proposed supermarket, riverfront beautification, development around the Chandi Temple, and construction of a public library, were reviewed. The Minister also emphasised speeding up works related to the Kalyan Mandap, auditorium, and the proposed Atal Bus Stand.

Special focus was laid on the construction of a new ring road and strengthening of the river embankment along the Ib River. The Minister held discussions with Shubha Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, to fast-track these initiatives. He also reviewed a proposal for a new bridge and approach road near Kutabaga and directed officials to accelerate the survey process.

Addressing concerns arising from the summer season, Pujari instructed authorities to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour water supply in Brajrajnagar and Belpahar urban areas. He held discussions with WATCO officials and directed immediate redressal of water supply issues in affected localities.

The Minister further asked officials to begin preparation of the draft budget for the 2026–27 financial year at the earliest, incorporating public feedback. He stressed prioritising the construction and renovation of educational institutions and called for greater involvement of local communities in development projects to generate employment and promote self-reliance.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Director of Municipal Administration Arindam Dakua, Brajrajnagar Municipal Council Chairman Gopal Sitani, and other department representatives. Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan and district officials joined the meeting virtually.
