CM Naveen Patnaik Launches Logo for Inaugural World Odia Language Conference

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik revealed the emblem for the inaugural World Odia Language Conference, titled “Biswa Odia Bhasha Sammilani,” accompanied by the tagline ‘Language is the Future.’ The Chief Minister extended his best wishes for the three-day conference scheduled from February 3 to 5, expressing hopes for its substantial success.

In his address, the Chief Minister envisioned the conference as a valuable platform for intellectual exchange among scholars, researchers, and students. Highlighting Odisha’s distinction as the first linguistic state in modern India, Naveen emphasized that the Odia language has attained the status of a classical language, contributing to the prestige of the region.

The inaugural World Odia Conference aims to explore the historical, present, and future dimensions of the Odia language, establishing goals for its widespread promotion. The Chief Minister underscored the conference’s role in enhancing respect for the Odia language among future generations and fostering its progress through modern technology.

The conference will convene eminent linguists and language researchers from across the globe, engaging in discussions on the antiquity and continuity of the Odia language. Over the three days, participants will delve into topics such as the language’s origin, development, spread, and its historical, current, and future trajectory.
