Bhubaneswar: In a continued show of his government’s commitment to inclusive governance, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday led the 12th edition of the ‘People’s Chief Minister’ grievance redressal programme at the CM’s Grievance Cell in Unit-2, Bhubaneswar. The session saw the participation of nearly 1,000 registered citizens seeking direct solutions to a range of personal and community issues.
Joined by seven cabinet ministers and senior bureaucrats, Chief Minister Majhi personally heard the grievances of attendees, issuing on-the-spot instructions to concerned departments for immediate action. As with previous sessions, the day began with the CM meeting differently-abled citizens, offering them priority access and dedicated time to voice their concerns.
Top officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries and departmental Secretaries, were stationed on-site to facilitate prompt coordination and ensure follow-up. Many attendees expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the government’s responsiveness, reflecting a growing public trust in the initiative.
Highlighting the government’s compassion-driven approach, Chief Minister Majhi approved ₹9.5 lakh in financial assistance for 10 individuals facing severe medical crises. The aid was sanctioned through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund under a streamlined single-window medical assistance system. With this, a total of ₹53.5 lakh has been disbursed to 48 beneficiaries so far in 2025 alone.
Since the programme’s inception, 10,894 grievances have been formally registered. Of these, 10,132 have been resolved, marking an impressive 93% resolution rate. The remaining cases are actively under review, with grievances accepted through both physical submissions and online portals.
The event witnessed the presence of several key ministers, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, and ST & SC Development Minister Nityananda Gond. Senior officials such as Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Secretary to the CM Saswat Mishra, and Special Secretary Nihar Ranjan Dash ensured efficient coordination throughout the day.
