CM Mohan Charan Majhi Charts Vision for Odisha’s Progress in New Year Meeting

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi convened a high-level meeting with senior officials at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday, calling for a united effort to ensure the successful implementation of government programs. The meeting set the tone for a focused and ambitious year ahead for Odisha, with an emphasis on both governance and development.

The Chief Minister marked the New Year in a subdued manner, respecting the national mourning for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and recent crop losses suffered by farmers due to unseasonal rains. In accordance with the solemn observance, officials conveyed their New Year greetings without customary bouquets, reflecting the low-key celebrations.

Highlighting the government’s achievements over the past six to seven months, Majhi acknowledged that many of the administration’s promises had been fulfilled. He attributed the successful execution of national-level events like Navy Day and the DGP Conference to the collective efforts of officials and employees.

“Odisha has demonstrated its capabilities in hosting prestigious events and achieving milestones in governance. It is crucial to sustain this momentum and explore ways to position our state as a leader in development,” he stated.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of preparing Odisha for international recognition by successfully organizing upcoming events, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas program.

Majhi also highlighted the Union Government’s continued support for Odisha, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the state three times in the last six months, with two more visits planned for January. He urged officials to leverage this cooperation to further Odisha’s developmental goals and realize the vision of a developed state.

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling expressed confidence in Odisha’s trajectory, describing 2025 as a pivotal year. They urged officials to align efforts with the state’s long-term visions for 2036 and 2047.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja commended the efficiency and dedication of Odisha’s officials. “Under the Chief Minister’s leadership, we are well-positioned to achieve significant milestones,” he affirmed.

The meeting, attended by the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretaries of all departments, Principal Secretaries, and other senior officials, concluded with a collective pledge to work towards Odisha’s development and governance goals.
