CM Majhi Announces Rs 4,000 Crore Cement Factory in Malkangiri, Unveils Key Infrastructure and Welfare Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has unveiled a major development initiative for Malkangiri district, announcing the establishment of a Rs 4,000 crore cement factory. This project is poised to provide employment opportunities for around 2,000 educated youth in the district, marking a significant step toward boosting the local economy.

During his visit to Malkangiri, the Chief Minister held a review meeting at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall to assess the progress of various development projects. A key focus of the discussion was the Jeypore-Malkangiri Link Project and the Malkangiri-Pandarangpuram via-Vadrachalam Link Project, with directives issued to expedite land acquisition for these crucial infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity in the region.

Highlighting the district’s development priorities, Majhi stressed the need to upgrade railway infrastructure, enhance national highways, and improve rural road networks. He underscored the importance of education, directing officials to ensure that every school in the district has at least two teachers to provide quality education and strengthen foundational learning for students.

In a significant boost to connectivity, the state government has proposed a new motorway linking Malkangiri from south to north. Complementing this, the Central Government has approved Rs 19.78 crore for the construction of five high-level bridges and an additional Rs 12.62 crore for four similar projects, aimed at facilitating seamless transportation and access in the district.

The Chief Minister also emphasized empowering women from the Banda and Didayi tribes through the Subhadra Yojana, ensuring direct financial assistance to all eligible beneficiaries. In a bid to elevate the quality of education, he announced plans to establish one Godavarish Adarsh Primary School in each panchayat within the next three years.

The meeting, attended by Minister Nityanand Gond, Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, and District Collector Ashish Elohim Patil, also reviewed other ongoing projects and welfare schemes. The officials assured the Chief Minister of their commitment to executing the directives efficiently.
