Bhubaneswar: Emphasizing the role of education in shaping a prosperous future, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a ₹1 crore grant for infrastructure development at Surajmal Saha College in Puri during its 45th annual day celebrations. Addressing students and faculty, he stressed the importance of knowledge, skill development, and the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Speaking at the event, CM Majhi described student life as the most creative and productive phase in an individual’s journey. “Knowledge is true power, and acquiring it is the greatest asset in today’s world,” he said. He highlighted the need for skill-based training alongside academic learning, ensuring students are well-equipped for employment opportunities. He also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to provide internships with stipends to one crore youth, helping them gain industry experience.

The Chief Minister further announced the establishment of one Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Primary School in every panchayat to strengthen Odisha’s primary education system. “By integrating NEP 2020 and the Adarsh Schools, we aim to provide quality education and a strong foundation for our students,” he added.

During the ceremony, CM Majhi inaugurated newly constructed classrooms and administrative buildings and laid the foundation stone for the Science and Commerce Department buildings. He also felicitated students who brought laurels to the state by winning medals at the South Asian Combat Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, and excelling in the All India Coastal Trekking and Mountain Course.
