Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari Visits C-DOT Delhi Campus

New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari paid a visit to the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) Delhi Campus on March 26, 2024. C-DOT stands as the premier Telecom Research and Development (R&D) center under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The center is actively engaged in the development of indigenous and secure telecom solutions, particularly for critical infrastructure such as defense communications and cyber security.

During the visit, CEO of C-DOT, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, presented an extensive overview of the diverse telecom product portfolio and solutions. Of particular focus were key telecom security solutions, including the security operation center for real-time malware detection, enterprise security center for threat mitigation at an enterprise level, Quantum key distribution, and Post Quantum Cryptography.

The presentation also covered a range of solutions such as 4G core, 4G RAN, 5G core, 5G RAN, disaster management using CAP, optical transport and access solutions, as well as switching and routing solutions.

As part of the visit, live demonstrations of these solutions were conducted, showcasing their functionality and effectiveness.

Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari interacted with senior officials of C-DOT and emphasized the importance of enhanced synergy between C-DOT and the Air Force. He highlighted the necessity of integrating futuristic and advanced secured communication solutions in response to the evolving landscape of modern warfare, which is transitioning from network-centric to data-centric operations.

Dr. Upadhyay assured the Air Chief of C-DOT’s unwavering commitment to developing state-of-the-art security solutions tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the Air Force.

The visit underscored the crucial role played by C-DOT in strengthening India’s telecommunications infrastructure, particularly in the realm of defense communications and cyber security, and highlighted the ongoing collaboration between C-DOT and the Indian Air Force in this endeavor.
