CDS Gen Anil Chauhan Visits INS Chilka

Bhubaneswar: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan paid a visit to INS Chilka, the premier ab-initio training establishment of the Indian Navy. During his visit, the CDS was briefed on the critical role INS Chilka plays in shaping the future sea warriors of the Indian Navy and provided an overview of the Agniveer training activities and analysis of the batches trained to date.

In his address to the Agniveers, General Chauhan highlighted the significance of the ‘Agnipath Scheme,’ describing it as one of the major reforms aimed at maintaining a youthful profile within the armed forces. He emphasized the scheme’s role in nation-building by providing the country with skilled, disciplined, and motivated youth. The CDS urged the Agniveers to concentrate on their training to become technologically proficient sea warriors. He also engaged with the Agniveers, addressing various queries and concerns.

To gain a deeper understanding of the Agniveer training in the Navy, General Chauhan took a short tour of the training infrastructure at INS Chilka. He expressed his admiration for the high standards of training imparted by the faculty and their efforts in shaping the next generation of naval personnel.

The visit underscores the importance of continuous improvement and excellence in military training programs, ensuring that the Indian Navy remains equipped with highly skilled and dedicated personnel.

INS Chilka, located on the banks of Chilka Lake in Odisha, is renowned for its comprehensive training programs designed to prepare young recruits for the challenges of naval service. The facility’s focus on advanced training techniques and state-of-the-art infrastructure plays a pivotal role in the professional development of India’s future sea warriors.
