CBI Raids AIIMS Bhubaneswar Over Alleged Recruitment Scam

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a search operation at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Wednesday amid allegations of recruitment fraud involving forged documents and fake experience certificates.

According to sources, the investigation was initiated after the CBI received complaints that four individuals had secured jobs at AIIMS Bhubaneswar through fraudulent means. The alleged irregularities came to light following a written examination conducted by a central public sector undertaking (PSU) in 2023-24 for the recruitment of two sanitary inspectors and two medical record technicians.

Reports indicate that the selected candidates had previously worked at AIIMS Bhubaneswar as temporary employees through an outsourced agency. However, their permanent recruitment allegedly involved the submission of fabricated work experience letters and other fake credentials.

As part of its probe, the CBI is also investigating the role of a suspected middleman linked to the outsourcing agency. Officials believe that this individual may have orchestrated the fraudulent appointments by manipulating documents and facilitating the selection of unqualified candidates.

The search operation at AIIMS Bhubaneswar is aimed at gathering evidence related to the recruitment scam and identifying those responsible for the irregularities. The CBI is expected to question officials and scrutinize records to determine the extent of the malpractice.
