BSF Organizes Grand Send-Off for 14th Phase of Tribal Youth Exchange Programme in Malkangiri

Malkangiri:  In a ceremonial event held at Sector Malkangiri, Shri Shiv Om, Commandant, Sector HQ BSF Malkangiri, flagged off the 14th phase of the 15th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme. The program, organized by the Border Security Force (BSF) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), saw the enthusiastic participation of 11 boys and 09 girls, totaling 20 candidates from Malkangiri district.

The event marked a significant milestone as candidates from remote areas, including villages like Tulsi, Luler, Temurpali, Kasrabhata, Dalpatiguda, Pujhariguda, Mundaguda, Sanguma, Khopra, Talpadar, Nuaguda, Salimi of Mathili block in Malkangiri, embarked on a journey to Mysore, Karnataka, from 6th to 12th February 2024. Accompanied by 02 BSF officials as escorts, the participants will engage in various events and activities organized by the state.

Present at the ceremony were distinguished guests including Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, CMO(SG), Sector HQ Malkangiri, Sh. Sraddhakar Padhee, Assistant Commandant, Sector HQ Malkangiri, Sh. Harish Rupal, District Youth Officer, NYKS Malkangiri, and other BSF officials. The program, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, aims to provide exposure and opportunities to youths from remote areas.

This marks the final tour of the 15th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme 2023-24, where candidates from Malkangiri have previously explored cities such as Chandigarh, Jammu, Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Nasik, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Pune. A total of 320 candidates from Malkangiri have participated in the 14 phases, gaining insights into different states and union territories.

During their stay in Mysore, the youths will engage in a diverse range of activities, including interactions with constitutional authorities, achievers, sports personalities, and cultural figures of the state. The program also includes career guidance, industrial training, visits to major industries, corporate houses, and historical and cultural sites to broaden their understanding of the nation’s social and cultural ethos.

The initiative is designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and exposure, providing them with valuable insights for a brighter future. The program reflects the commitment of the BSF and NYKS towards empowering youth from remote areas and fostering a sense of national integration.
