Bharat 6G Alliance Unveils Strategic Action Plans to Drive India’s Leadership in 6G Technology by 2030

Bengaluru: The Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) today presented an ambitious roadmap for 6G technology development during a high-level interaction attended by Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, and Secretary, Telecom, Dr. Neeraj Mittal. The event marked a significant step in India’s quest to become a global leader in 6G by 2030, with detailed action plans from the Alliance’s key working groups.

In his address, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to advancing the next generation of telecommunications. “India is on the verge of revolutionizing telecommunications with 6G technology,” he stated, emphasizing that the government will provide support through policy frameworks, research funding, and spectrum allocation to enable testing and innovation.

Underlining India’s transformation from a slow adopter to a leader in technology, Minister Scindia said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, India is developing ubiquitous, affordable, and accessible technology for all 140 crore Indians. The Bharat 6G Alliance will play a pivotal role in ensuring that India remains at the forefront of this revolution.”

Progress and Plans of the Bharat 6G Alliance

During the event, seven working groups within the Bharat 6G Alliance showcased their innovations and strategic initiatives. Their presentations covered a broad spectrum of sectors crucial for 6G development, including spectrum management, device technologies, use cases, standards, green and sustainable networks, RAN and core networks, AI and sensing, and security.

Highlights of the presentations included:

  • Indigenous RAN (Radio Access Network) technologies aimed at enhancing rural connectivity.
  • Intelligent networks supporting agriculture, health, and smart cities.
  • Sustainable communication solutions for green technology applications.

These action plans and projects demonstrated India’s robust commitment to leading the global 6G revolution by developing innovative, scalable, and inclusive technologies.

Government’s Role in Driving 6G Innovation

Jyotiraditya Scindia commended the Bharat 6G Alliance’s efforts and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting research and development, creating testing labs, and fostering a conducive environment for startups and enterprises in the 6G space. He emphasized the government’s focus on ensuring that India plays a critical role in shaping the global 6G landscape by building world-class technologies and fostering public-private partnerships.

“The Bharat 6G Vision, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a bold initiative aimed at establishing India as a global leader in telecommunications by 2030,” the Minister noted. He further emphasized the transformative potential of 6G in promoting social and economic development, particularly in rural and underserved areas, ensuring inclusive growth.
