London: Barbora Krejcikova will face Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon final after defeating former champion Elena Rybakina with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday.
Krejcikova’s victory sets up a final clash with seventh seed Paolini on Saturday. “I’m so proud about my game and my fighting spirit today,” said Krejcikova after her hard-fought win.
Paolini had earlier scripted history by advancing to the women’s singles final at Wimbledon 2024, making her the first Italian woman to reach this milestone. Her match against Vekic, extending to two hours and 51 minutes, provided fans with one of the most memorable encounters in women’s singles during the Open Era.
