Ayush Pavilion Showcases Ayurveda’s Role in Nutrition and Wellness at World Food India 2024

New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush highlighted the vital role of Ayurveda and India’s traditional medicine systems in modern nutrition and wellness through its Ayush Pavilion at the World Food India 2024 event, held at Pragati Maidan from September 19th to 22nd. The pavilion attracted global attention with its display of Ayurveda Aahar, a unique concept blending ancient wisdom with contemporary dietary solutions.

The event was inaugurated with the presence of senior dignitaries, industry stakeholders, and global participants. It emphasized India’s rich Ayurvedic food traditions and their relevance to addressing current global health challenges such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.

Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, visited the pavilion on the opening day and underscored the importance of integrating Ayurveda into mainstream nutrition and wellness. “Ayurveda Aahar offers scientifically backed, time-tested dietary solutions that promote holistic health,” said Kotecha. He added that World Food India provides the ideal platform to present this ancient knowledge to a global audience.

Key Highlights of the Ayush Pavilion:

  • Ayurvedic Dietary Products: A special exhibit showcased Ayurvedic solutions for lifestyle disorders, demonstrating how Ayurvedic ingredients can be seamlessly incorporated into everyday meals to enhance health and well-being.
  • Live Demonstrations and Consultations: Ayurvedic nutrition experts offered personalized dietary advice based on an individual’s body type (Prakriti) according to Ayurveda.
  • Yoga Sessions: Live demonstrations of yoga therapy were also held, showcasing the role of yoga in promoting wellness.

The pavilion also facilitated discussions between representatives from the public and private sectors on forming partnerships for research and development in Ayurveda Aahar. These efforts aim to further promote the global acceptance of Ayurvedic food practices.

Future Plans for Ayurveda Aahar:

The Ministry of Ayush is focused on developing standardized guidelines for Ayurvedic foods and working with international regulatory bodies to bring Ayurveda Aahar to global markets. The Secretary noted, “Ayurveda has the potential to transform the global food landscape by offering sustainable and preventive health solutions. We are committed to promoting research and innovation in this field.”

The pavilion reflects India’s continuous efforts to integrate traditional knowledge systems with advanced food technology, creating a health-centric food culture for both domestic and international markets.

World Food India 2024, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, continues until September 21st, 2024, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. A special Ayush session titled “Revolutionizing Nutrition: Ayush Food Innovations for a Sustainable World” is scheduled for September 20th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Level 1, Room 7, Pragati Maidan.
