Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet Approves Formation of Two New Districts for Efficient Administration
Itanagar: In a significant move to streamline administration, the cabinet of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu sanctioned the establishment of two additional districts, announced a senior official on Tuesday. The decision was formalized during a cabinet meeting held under the leadership of the Chief Minister on Monday.
The newly approved districts are Keyi Panyor, which will be carved out from Lower Subansiri, and Bichom, which will be formed from East and West Kameng districts. With these additions, the total number of districts in the northeastern state will increase to 28.
According to government spokesperson Bamang Felix, Keyi Panyor district is set to have its administrative headquarters situated in Yachuli, specifically in the Ter Gapin-Sam Sath area. The establishment of the new district necessitated the creation of 67 positions, including Group A, Group B non-gazetted, Group C, MTS, and ALC posts.
Napangphung has been designated as the district headquarters for Bichom district. Alongside the creation of new districts, the cabinet also approved the setup of additional judicial courts, leading to the generation of 103 positions across various categories. This comprehensive decision aims at enhancing administrative efficiency and better governance in the state.
