India and Pakistan will lock horns in the group stages of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in UAE and Oman in October and November this year. The arch-rivals will take on each other in the opening match of Group-2 of the Super-12 stage on October 24 at Dubai. The match starts at 6 pm local time, informed ICC.
International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the T20 World Cup fixture on Tuesday. The tournament will start a week prior to the blockbuster India-Pakistan encounter, as the Round-1 stage consisting of eight teams will be played in Oman. The top two teams from each of the two groups of Round-1 stage will progress to the Super-12.
The Super-12 round starts on October 23 with Australia taking on South Africa in a day match while England will lock horns with West Indies in the evening schedule. India will face New Zealand at Dubai on October 31 and Afghanistan at Abu Dhabi on November 3 in their next two matches. India’s last two group matches are with qualifiers from Round-1 stage on November 5 and 8 at Dubai.
The semi-finals will be played in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on November 10 and 11 respectively, while the final will be hosted by Dubai on November 14.
