Amit Shah Proposes Tightened Border Control with Myanmar, Reflects on India’s Law and Order Transformation

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing the passing out parade of the newly formed Assam Police Commando battalions in Guwahati, made a significant announcement on border security. Shah declared that the central government is contemplating ending unrestricted movement at the India-Myanmar border, adopting a strategy similar to that with Bangladesh.

Highlighting the evolving security measures, Shah emphasized the reconsideration of the free movement agreement with Myanmar. “The border with Myanmar, like that with Bangladesh, will be closely guarded, and the central government intends to terminate unrestricted movement with Myanmar,” he stated during the event.

Taking the opportunity to reflect on the transformation of law and order in the country over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah pointedly criticized the Congress. He asserted that, unlike the past, under the BJP regime, individuals no longer have to resort to bribery for government job placements.

In a broader context, Shah touched upon the upcoming Pran Pratishtha ritual in Ayodhya, expressing the significance of Lord Ram’s return after what he described as “550 disrespectful years.” He hailed the event as a matter of national pride and underlined its importance as India strides towards becoming a global superpower.
