Amit Shah Inaugurates ₹708 Crore Projects in Gandhinagar; Highlights India’s Decisive Response to Terrorism Under PM Modi

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth ₹708 crore in Gujarat’s capital, Gandhinagar. He also addressed a benefit distribution programme of the Postal Department, where he emphasized India’s security advancements and development strides under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at the event, Shah stated that since taking office, Prime Minister Modi has replicated Gujarat’s model of development across the country, steering India towards becoming a fully developed nation. “In every sector—be it infrastructure, industry, security, or welfare—India is advancing with confidence and clarity,” he said.

The Home Minister also underscored the government’s robust national security measures, noting a dramatic shift in India’s response to terrorism since 2014. “Before PM Modi took office, terrorist attacks were frequent and met with silence. Today, India responds with precision and resolve,” Shah said, citing the 2016 Uri surgical strike, the 2019 Balakot air strike after Pulwama, and the recent “Operation Sindoor” following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Describing Operation Sindoor as a powerful statement of India’s military strength, Shah revealed that nine terror camps belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba were destroyed, some located 100 kilometres inside Pakistan. “Our armed forces have not only retaliated with force but have done so in a way that the entire world is astonished,” he added.

Shri Shah explained that during the Pahalgam attack, Pakistani terrorists killed Indian civilians after asking their religion—an act India responded to by launching a precisely targeted operation that spared innocents but devastated terrorist infrastructure. “Over 100 terrorists were neutralized, and our advanced air defence system, developed under PM Modi, ensured that not a single enemy missile or drone could harm Indian soil,” he said.

The Home Minister added that following the retaliatory strikes, the Indian Air Force also crippled Pakistan’s ability to strike by targeting 15 of their airbases on May 9. “This has been a message to Pakistan and to the world that India will not tolerate any harm to its citizens,” he declared.

Shah praised the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, calling him a son of Gujarat who has made Bharat Mata proud. He said that Operation Sindoor—named by the Prime Minister himself—was a tribute to the dignity of Indian mothers and sisters, symbolized by the sacred “sindoor.” “As long as military operations are studied globally, Operation Sindoor will be remembered,” Shah said.
