Amartya Bhattacharyya’s Odia film, Adieu Godard, selected for Croatia festival

National award-winning independent filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya’s Odia film, Adieu Godard, has been officially selected at the 25th Split Film Festival 2021 also known as International Festival of New Film. This is one of the oldest and prestigious film festivals in the world organised at Split, an ancient town located at the middle of the Adriatic coast of Croatia.

The festival will be held from September 15 to 21. According to the makers, Adieu Godard, an Indo-French production, will make its second grand festival screening after its premiere at Moscow International Film Festival earlier this year.

Amartya is the writer, director, cinematographer and editor of this film. The film’s cast include veteran Odia actors Choudhury Bikash Das, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Shankar Basu Mallick, youngsters Sudhashri Madhusmita, Swastik Choudhury, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Abhishek Giri and several others. While Kisaloy Roy has scored music for this film, popular Bengali singer Rupam Islam has sung an Odia song for the first time through this film.
