Indian Men’s Hockey Team Reaches Semi Final in Tokyo Olympics

The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Great Britain by 3-1 goals in their quarterfinal match  to reach the Semi final in the Olympics after 41 years. Dilpreet Singh scored the first goal at the 7th minute. The Indian team had a stronghold throughout the match. The second was scored at 16th minute by Gurjant Singh. 

The Britain team tried their best to get back into the match and scored their first goal in the 45th minute. However, India scored their third goal in the 57th minute and won the match.

India last won an Olympic gold medal in the Moscow Olympics in 1980. The Indian team reached the semifinals in 1972 Munich Olympic Games played with Pakistan. They lost the match 0-2.
