Berhampur: The all-women Meter Testing Laboratory of TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) located at Ambagada in Berhampur has achieved accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
Established just last year, the cutting-edge facility represents TPSODL’s inaugural all-women meter testing laboratory, designed to empower local women by offering them advanced technical roles and opportunities.
The accreditation from NABL marks a significant milestone in the quality assurance process for smart meters. It comes after a rigorous audit that verified the laboratory’s adherence to high standards and technical precision in testing and calibration.
This achievement underscores TPSODL’s ability to provide dependable testing services at its fully automated facility, thereby bolstering customer trust and satisfaction.
The all-women Meter Testing Lab (AW-MTL) at TPSODL plays a crucial role in upholding standards by ensuring all meters meet stringent Indian Standards. Equipped with automated test benches aligned with these standards and calibrated according to NABL guidelines, the AW-MTL is staffed by a dedicated team of seven women.
With a capacity to test over 1,000 smart meters daily, this state-of-the-art lab demonstrates TPSODL’s dedication to precision and quality control in utility services.
