AK Saxena Takes Charge as CMD of RINL, Initiates Production Discussions at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant

Visakhapatnam: AK Saxena has officially assumed the additional charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity overseeing the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, as of today. His appointment comes at a critical time as the company aims to enhance its production capabilities.

Immediately after taking charge, Saxena engaged in discussions with the Directors of RINL to familiarize himself with the company’s current operations and future objectives. Following these discussions, he visited Blast Furnace 2, also known as the Krishna Furnace, where he interacted with officials to understand the technical aspects and operational challenges faced by the facility.

Saxena’s visit included meetings with the Heads of the main production units at RINL, where he emphasized the importance of ramping up production at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. His focus on increasing output aligns with the company’s strategic goals to strengthen its position in the steel industry.

Accompanying Saxena during his visit were key executives including AK Bagchi, Director (Projects); S. C. Pandey, Director (Personnel); CH S R V G K Ganesh, Director (Finance); and G. V. N. Prasad, Director (Commercial). Senior officials, including the Chief General Manager (Works) in charge and various Chief General Managers, were also present, contributing their insights to the discussions.
