AIIMS Bilaspur Augments Healthcare Infrastructure with New Facilities

Bilaspur:  In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure, a series of new facilities, including Radiation Oncology, a 128 Slice CT Scanner, and a Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) plant, were inaugurated today at AIIMS Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Jagat Prakash Nadda, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, inaugurated the facilities in the presence of Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, and other dignitaries.

The new services aim to elevate healthcare services in the region and beyond, providing state-of-the-art medical facilities. The addition of Radiation Oncology, the 128 Slice CT Scanner, and the LMO plant signifies a new era in patient care, offering advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

Addressing the gathering, J.P. Nadda highlighted the government’s commitment to transforming the health sector. He emphasized the expansion of the AIIMS network, increased capacity in medical colleges, and the implementation of policies such as Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the world’s largest healthcare coverage scheme in India.

The Chief Guest, Jagat Prakash Nadda, praised the dedicated efforts of the Union Government in bringing healthcare services to remote areas. He lauded the successful containment of the COVID-19 pandemic through collaborative efforts without resorting to forceful measures.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya celebrated the inauguration of 12 new facilities at AIIMS Bilaspur, cumulatively costing over Rs 400 crore. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he noted that India’s healthcare system withstood the pressure and is now better prepared to address such challenges.

Anurag Thakur commended the rapid completion of AIIMS Bilaspur within three years, reflecting the government’s commitment to timely and quality health infrastructure. The foundation stone for a Vishram Sadan (night shelter) at AIIMS Bilaspur was also laid during the event.

The new facilities, including Radiation Oncology, the 128 Slice CT Scanner, and the LMO plant, will contribute to enhanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities at AIIMS Bilaspur. The Liquid Medical Oxygen plant ensures a continuous oxygen supply at the bedside, crucial for patient care.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a visit to the recently inaugurated facilities, including the Cardiac Cath Lab, Coronary Care Unit, Central Sterile Supply Department, and Laundry in the main hospital building.

The advancements in healthcare infrastructure at AIIMS Bilaspur underscore the government’s commitment to providing quality medical services and promoting health and well-being in the region.
