
Bhubaneswar: A delegation from the America India Foundation Trust (AIF) today presented their projects and initiatives to Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan. The presentation was also attended by Minister of School & Mass Education, ST & SC Development, and SSEPD, Nityananda Gond.
The AIF Trust, a volunteer organization, focuses on integrated programs for early childhood care, development, and education, targeting children aged six months to six years. The trust also addresses critical issues such as malnutrition and stunting in children.
Currently, AIF is implementing an early childhood care program in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. In Odisha, it has initiated pilot projects in collaboration with Anganwadi centers in two blocks of Mayurbhanj district. During the presentation, the trust expressed its interest in expanding collaboration with the Odisha government in education, early childhood care, and integrated programs to combat malnutrition and stunting in children.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Mission Shakti, Shalini Pandit, along with Regional Director – East of AIF Trust, Smruti Das, and Subrat Sarkar, attended the meeting and provided valuable feedback on the initiatives.
The AIF delegation highlighted the potential of its programs to create significant impact, and both ministers acknowledged the importance of partnerships to address pressing issues in early childhood care and development. Further discussions are expected to formalize a collaborative framework between the trust and the Odisha government.
