Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure the widespread awareness and effective implementation of various schemes and programs under the 5T Initiatives for sustainable growth across all sections of society, the State Government has announced a comprehensive state-wide awareness campaign titled “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, Sahari” under the UNNATI initiative. The campaign is set to commence on January 22, 2024, and will run until February 7, 2024.

The Housing & Urban Development Department has issued detailed guidelines to facilitate the organization of this program, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to eligible beneficiaries and ensuring the transparent distribution of benefits.

Key points from the guidelines include:

Campaign Period: The awareness camps will be organized by all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) between January 22, 2024, and February 7, 2024, covering all wards as per the calendar prepared by the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA).

Location and Schedule: ULBs will decide the location of the camps, and a detailed schedule must be prepared, considering transportation and logistics. The schedule, compiled by DUDA, is to be submitted to the Director Municipal Administration, H&UD Department, before January 20, 2024.

Beneficiary Identification: The beneficiaries will be identified in advance, and concerned line departments will inform them to be present during the camps for the distribution of benefits.

Logistics and Arrangements: ULBs are responsible for organizing necessary arrangements, including seating, public address systems, refreshments, audiovisuals, and all materials required for Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities.

IEC Campaign: Concerned line departments are expected to undertake a 360-degree IEC campaign through various channels, including TV commercials, radio jingles, newspaper advertisements, banners, hoardings, and social media.

Supervision: State-level committee members and officers from H&UD Department will visit the camps for necessary supervision, ensuring the success of the initiative.

Documentation: All activities during the camps will be videographed from start to end for proper documentation. PD, DUDA, will keep information on all benefits distributed and submit a detailed report to the Government after the conclusion of all scheduled camps.

The Housing and Urban Development Department will act as the nodal department, and the Collector will oversee the district-level awareness campaign. Coordination at the district and ULB levels will be handled by PD, DUDA, and Municipal Commissioner/Executive Officer, respectively.

The initiative aims to create awareness, ensure transparency, and empower citizens by providing information on various welfare and development schemes. The guidelines also highlight flexibility for the government to modify provisions as required for administrative convenience, with the decision being final.
