Bhubaneswar: The International Symposium on Shree Anna 2025 will be held on November 10 and 11, highlighting the theme “International Symposium on Shree Anna & Women’s Participation in Agricultural Heritage.” This year’s edition will feature a dedicated session on women farmers, recognizing their vital role in preserving traditional food crops and promoting sustainable agriculture.
A preparatory Monitoring Committee meeting of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment was held today under the chairmanship of Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, to review arrangements for the upcoming event.
The two-day symposium will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, while His Excellency the Governor will grace the valedictory ceremony. The event will witness participation from a wide range of stakeholders including agriculturists, scientists, women agri-preneurs, NGOs, FPOs, and representatives from international organizations such as FAO, MSSRF, IFPRI, and SEWA. A large number of farmers, entrepreneurs, and students are also expected to attend.
To celebrate Odisha’s rich cultural identity, this year’s symposium mascot will be adorned in the famous Phuta Saree of Mayurbhanj, symbolizing the state’s traditional artistry and connection to its agrarian roots.
Director of Agriculture Shubham Saxena, Dean of OUAT Dr. Prasannajit Mishra, and senior departmental officials presented detailed updates on the preparations, which are currently underway in full swing to ensure the event’s success.
