Specialist Medical Team Arrives in Nuapada under Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva Scheme

Nuapada: Reaffirming its commitment to equitable healthcare delivery, the Odisha Government on Monday dispatched a high-level team of medical specialists from SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, to Nuapada district under the Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva Scheme (MBSSS). The expert team arrived with essential equipment and medicines and will remain stationed at the District Headquarters Hospital until July 24, offering super-specialty consultations and treatment to patients identified under the scheme.

The six-member team includes specialists from endocrinology, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, neurology, and cardiology. The doctors will conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide advanced care to residents who otherwise lack access to such services locally. According to official sources, 632 patients from across the district have been registered for treatment.

The team’s visit marks the initial phase of an extended medical intervention, with a second senior team scheduled to arrive on Tuesday for further assessments and follow-ups.

The Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva Scheme is one of Odisha’s flagship healthcare initiatives aimed at closing the urban-rural health divide. By airlifting specialists to underserved regions, the scheme brings critical care directly to the doorstep of those who need it most, without forcing patients to travel long distances.

Officials have called the deployment a significant step toward transforming healthcare accessibility in districts like Nuapada, where super-specialist services are limited. The initiative not only ensures timely medical attention but also upholds the broader objective of inclusive and regionally balanced development in the state’s healthcare system.
