Odisha Plans Inclusive, Impactful Celebrations to Mark One Year of Present Government

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha is gearing up to celebrate the completion of one year of its current administration with a series of inclusive, people-centric events across the state. A high-level meeting was held today under the chairpersonship of Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development and Commerce & Transport Departments, to chalk out the roadmap for the celebration.

Senior officials from both departments actively participated in the deliberations, focusing on showcasing the government’s achievements over the past year through impactful and transparent public outreach.

Addressing the meeting, Smt. Padhee emphasized that the celebration must highlight the government’s commitment to development, transparency, good governance, and public welfare. She stressed the need for an inclusive approach that resonates with citizens at the grassroots level.

Among the key activities proposed during the meeting were:

  • Public outreach initiatives across all 115 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), RTO regions, and port areas to showcase milestone achievements.
  • Exhibitions and multimedia campaigns to highlight success stories and transformative projects undertaken during the year.
  • Inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremonies for critical infrastructure and welfare projects.
  • Audio-visual documentation of departmental progress and achievements.
  • Interactive citizen engagement activities focused on housing, sanitation, transportation, and urban development.
  • Cultural programmes and felicitation of exemplary individuals who have contributed to the state’s growth.

Padhee directed officials to prepare sector-specific action plans and ensure maximum public involvement in the activities. She emphasized that the celebrations should embody the essence of democratic governance, community participation, and service delivery.
