Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allocated Rs. 37,838 crore for the Agriculture and Allied Sectors in the Annual Budget 2025-26, marking a 12% increase over the previous year. This significant investment aims to enhance farmers’ productivity, support agricultural diversification, and ensure sustainable growth in the sector.
Key Budgetary Allocations for Agriculture:
- Samrudha Krushaka Yojana: Rs. 6,000 crore to enhance agricultural productivity.
- CM-KISAN: Rs. 2,020 crore for direct financial assistance to farmers.
- Shree Anna Abhiyan: Rs. 600 crore to promote millet cultivation.
- Crop Diversification Programme: Rs. 695 crore to encourage diversified cropping.
- Farm Mechanisation & Agri-Entrepreneurship: Rs. 425 crore for modernizing farming practices.
- Paddy Procurement Revolving Fund: Rs. 2,000 crore to support farmers during procurement season.
- Interest-Free Loan for Procurement: Rs. 100 crore for OSSC Ltd. (Seeds) and Rs. 150 crore for OSCMF Ltd. (Fertilizers).
- Post-Harvest Management and Marketing: Rs. 62 crore for improved storage and logistics.
- Horticulture Development: Rs. 436 crore for crop-specific clusters.
- Soil Conservation & Watershed Management: Rs. 194 crore for sustainable land management.
- National Food Security Mission (NFSM): Rs. 255 crore to enhance food grain production.
- Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY): Rs. 190 crore for irrigation projects.
- Prani Sampad Samrudhi Yojana: Rs. 171 crore for livestock development.
