Union Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates Hiramani Arogyadham Day-Care Hospital in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah today inaugurated the Hiramani Arogyadham Day-Care Hospital in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

During his address, Amit Shah praised the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, noting his contributions to improving healthcare facilities across the state and ensuring their accessibility to the public. Shah also commended Narhari Amin for his long-standing dedication to social welfare. He highlighted Narhari Ji’s contributions to sports infrastructure through Gujarat’s cricket association, the development of quality education for over 4,000 children, and the establishment of old-age homes and the Annapurna Trust.

Shah emphasized that Hiramani Arogyadham, established by Narhari Ji in memory of his parents, takes a holistic approach to address healthcare challenges. With modern lifestyles, pollution, and fast-paced living contributing to chronic diseases, Shah noted that long-term treatments, such as dialysis, physiotherapy, and other therapies, are often costly and inaccessible for the poor and middle-class, especially in rural areas. The Hiramani Arogyadham aims to bridge this gap by offering affordable healthcare services to those in need.

Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to promote public health, Amit Shah mentioned the success of initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, which helped reduce diseases caused by unhygienic conditions. He also pointed to the government’s focus on ensuring clean drinking water and building toilets in every home, which have significantly reduced waterborne diseases. Shah also lauded the introduction of International Yoga Day to encourage physical exercise and the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat scheme, which provides healthcare coverage of up to five lakh rupees for millions of citizens, easing the burden of expensive treatments.

Shah emphasized that comprehensive healthcare requires robust infrastructure, which the Modi government is addressing through its nationwide health infrastructure initiatives. He noted the government’s target to increase medical seats by 75,000 over the next decade and the availability of generic medicines at significantly lower prices, helping alleviate the cost of essential drugs.

The Union Home Minister concluded by reiterating that the Hiramani Arogyadham will provide essential therapies, dialysis, and physiotherapy at affordable rates, making crucial healthcare services accessible to the poor and middle-class. This day-care hospital is seen as a significant contribution to improving healthcare in Gujarat, ensuring that chronic illness treatments are available to all sections of society.
