Govt Launches Unified Pension Form and e-HRMS Integration to Simplify Processes for Senior Citizens

New Delhi: In a major initiative aimed at enhancing ease of living for senior citizens and pensioners, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today announced the launch of a Single Unified Pension Application Form—‘Form 6-A’—and the integration of e-HRMS with Bhavishya. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the National Media Centre, marking a significant step toward simplifying pension processes across India.

The initiative merges nine separate forms into one and reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to easing bureaucratic procedures for the elderly, enabling them to save time while contributing to the nation’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”

Dr. Jitendra Singh, who holds several portfolios including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, emphasized the impact of the reform. He stated, “The launch of the ‘Single Simplified Pension Application Form and Digital Integration of Bhavishya with e-HRMS’ is another milestone in the Department of Pension’s efforts to improve the lives of our senior citizens.”

The unified form is designed to streamline the pension application process, reducing complexity and cutting down time and effort. Retiring officials on the e-HRMS platform will fill the new Form 6-A digitally, while those not on the platform will use Bhavishya. The form submission will require a simple e-Sign via Aadhaar-based OTP.

Dr. Singh also highlighted other ongoing reforms, including Digital Life Certificates, Pension Adalats, and Pre-Retirement Counseling Workshops, which have ensured transparency and efficiency for pensioners. He noted that the Family Pension Grievances campaign has achieved a 96% redressal rate, resolving cases for divyang daughters, widows, and war veterans’ families.

A key feature of the initiative is the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal, which offers a Single Window Platform for pensioners. Banks like State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, and others have integrated their pension portals with Bhavishya to provide services such as monthly pension slips, life certificate status, and Form 16 submission.

Dr. Singh said, “This initiative empowers senior citizens and simplifies the systems that directly impact their lives, reflecting our government’s continued commitment to their welfare.”

The event was attended by dignitaries including V. Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, and M.V. Rao, MD & CEO of Central Bank of India. The government aims to integrate all pension-disbursing banks with this portal for a unified user experience, benefitting millions of senior citizens across the country.
